What Happens During Your First Session
The first day sets expectations. Most facilitators start with what meditation isn’t—it’s not clearing your mind completely, it’s not spiritual (unless you want it to be), and you won’t suddenly become zen. Real talk matters.
Introduction & Breathing Basics
You’ll learn three fundamental breathing techniques. Box breathing (4-4-4-4 count) works particularly well in high-stress roles.
Body Scan Practice
A 15-minute guided practice where you systematically notice tension in your shoulders, jaw, chest. Most people discover they’re holding stress they didn’t know about.
Reflection & Commitment
Discussion about obstacles and realistic commitment. If you can do 5 minutes daily, that’s enough. Programs don’t expect perfection.
